Main Task: Evaluation - Question 4 and 5
Other feedback for my media product is displayed below:
I think an obvious conclusion of this data is that many thought the overall aesthetics of my magazine were of good standard as it was often described as 'professional'. The other positives that were picked out were things such as my colour scheme and main cover image- many said that these suited the genre of my magazine.
However more than one person said that the font on the double page spread could have been altered, and 'Jess' in the video commented on the structure of the text on the double page spread too.
So overall I think I achieved the targets I set myself in the planning process of who my target audience is and clearly displayed the conventions of the rock genre. With just a few minor issues, seemingly most common on the double page spread, I believe the magazine reflects the genre well.

Main Task: Production - Double Page Spread
I have designed my double page spread so that the body of text lay directly on the image. This however made the visibility difficult and therefore unsuitable for a magazine so I created boxes around the text. This then made the page look intrusive so I reduced the opacity of the boxes to make them more subtle whilst still making the visibility easier.

Main Task: Production- Front Cover
First draft of my front cover:

Second draft of my cover after removing some imperfections and the logo on his clothing. However, I could not remove the glare from his eyes without distorting the image as his pupils are in different places so it looked obviously edited.
After considering my front cover further, I decided that it needed more cover lines to resemble a true magazine. I also added an image to the bottom left corner to add more interest and depth to the cover.
After reviewing this draft of my front cover, I have decided upon some elements I need to improve. These are minor details that can be fixed easily such as; the logo 'element' across my models clothing, some skin blemishes and also the glare of the flash in his eyes. I will attempt to correct all of these issues to ensure a more perfected, finished look.

Main Task: Production- Photographs
I took many photographs so I could chose the best suited one for the cover and the double page spread.
As expected, some could not be used due to lighting difficulties as I took some pictures outside and the sun was shining. Another difficulty I had during this stage was with the models themselves. The initial models shown in my planning changed their minds, and so to deal with this, I found two more models who looked similar to those. We arranged a time to meet, this meeting had to take place at sixth form as we could not meet any other time and so the planning for location is incorrect. However, after this, I encountered another problem in the fact that the models went home and did not attend the meeting. Because I needed to take my photographs before the end of this week so that my production could continue, I asked some people if they would be willing. This meant that the image of the models differed from my planning slightly however still fit the genre of my magazine.

Main Task: Production - Contents Page
I have begun to plan out my Contents page in order to get this finished as quickly as possible. By inserting image boxes and text boxes where I want things to be, it will make the process of inserting the images easier at a later date. I cannot complete this part of the task yet as I have not taken the photographs I wish to appear on the contents page. So far I have added a gradient background to my contents plan, however I will alter this more until I get the desired, professional standard. In order for the contents to look more appealing, I think I need to incorporate more white to the background on the left hand side where the heaviest lay of text will be.
I deleted the background as I felt this made the contents look unprofessional. I also reduced the size of the red boxes so the underlined the headings rather than encased them, this makes the text more legible.
